ABSTRACT There is disclosed a portable sanding device comprising a housing, a driven roller journalled therein, a motor with a transmission arranged in the housing for driving the roller, a control-roller journalled in a subframe movable with respect to the housing, and an endless sanding belt passed around the two rollers. The driven roller is provided with a running surface, the width of which is appreciably smaller than that of the sanding belt.
