ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The parallelism of a working slot of a board sanding machine utilizing a sanding belt driven over a roll forming one limit of the slot through which the processed panel-shaped articles pass is improved by providing additional adjustable support to the counter-pressure element, usually a counter- pressure roll, at least in the middle of the length thereof, to maintain linearity of the surface of the counter-pressure roll to enable closer tolerances of thickness of the machined boards.
