The invention relates to a biodegradable sandwich panel which can be recycled in the paper-making cycle and is based on starch foam and to a method for preparing said panel wherein an elastic or hardened starch foam core is coated with a layer material made of paper and/or paperboard, the production process being continuous. The advantages of the invention reside in the improved operating properties and the simple production process which can easily be adapted to the respective purpose.

L'invention concerne un panneau sandwich biodégradable et recyclable dans le cycle du papier, à base de mousse d'amidon, ainsi qu'un procédé de fabrication de ce panneau. Ledit procédé consiste à revêtir d'une couche de papier et/ou de carton une âme de mousse d'amidon élastique ou durcie, ce procédé de fabrication se déroulant en continu. Les avantages de l'invention résident dans l'amélioration des caractéristiques d'utilisation du panneau et dans la facilité d'adaptation de ce mode de fabrication à différentes applications.
