A sanitary tub with a tub body having a tub edge along the perimeter that has been turned towards the outside and includes a substantially vertical collar along its circumference is provided with a carrier attached to the collar. A tub edge covering is secured to the carrier. The carrier has a bottom edge vertically spaced from and above the tub edge which, together with the tub edge, delineates an internal installation groove that is open towards the interior of the tub body and permits the mounting of fluid or lighting outlets therein as well as the supporting of bath furniture.
