The invention relates to rotating antenna feed structures and shaped reflector antennas to be used on satellites for uplink-downlink uses. The rotating antenna feeds, mounted on a device reminiscent of a wheel or roller, rolling in the direction of motion of the satellite, provide a multiplicity of spot beams. The shaped reflectors remove the distortions caused by the shape of the earth and the orbit geometry. These distortions include an hour-glass shaped distortion due to the intersection of a conical scan with the Earth's surface and a variable speed distortion due to the differing propagation geometry as the beams rotate beneath the satellite. Removal of a varying cross-orbit velocity, due to the 24 hour per day rotation of the Earth, is accomplished with varying yaw rotations of the satellite.
