A programmable boundary pet containment system is provided for controlling the access of animals (10) to areas outside of programmed boundaries (18a, b, c, d). A programmable relay collar (14) is provided on an animal (10) to transmit positional data as detected from positional satellites (16) to a remotely located processing station (20, 22). The processing station calculates the relayed data to determine the position of the animal relative to a configuration data file establishing confinement area boundaries. Animals that are detected as venturing beyond the programmed boundaries are subject to a correction stimulus, such as a mild shock or audible signal, delivered to the animal by the relay collar as enabled by the remotely located processing station.
On décrit un système programmable établissant des limites de confinement pour animaux familiers. Le système permet de contrôler l'accès d'animaux (10) à des zones situées à l'extérieur de zones limites programmées (18a, b, c, d). Un collier relais programmable (14) est attaché à un animal (10) pour transmettre à un poste de traitement distant (20, 22) des données de position détectées par des satellites de positionnement (16). Le poste de traitement calcule les données relayées pour déterminer la position de l'animal sur la base d'un fichier de données de configuration dans lequel sont enregistrées les limites de la zone de confinement. Lorsqu'il est détecté qu'un animal s'est aventuré au-delà des limites programmées, celui-ci est soumis à une stimulation corrective, telle qu'un faible choc ou un signal audible émanant du collier de relais de l'animal, lequel collier est activé par le poste de traitement distant.
