To control the attitude in roll (X) and in yaw (Z) of a satellite (1) including two solar generator panels (4, 5) adapted to be oriented independently of each other about a pitch axis: . in a preliminary stage: two geometrical axes x and z are selected in the plane of the roll and yaw axes, there being associated with the z axis a tolerable command torque error much lower than for the x axis, and a correlation law is established between satellite panel depointing angles .gamma.N and .gamma.S and possible command torques due to solar radiation pressure, then cyclically while the satellite performs its orbit: a theoretical attitude correction torque in the plane of the roll and yaw axes is calculated, a possible torque is identified having on the z axis, a component substantially identical to that of the theoretical torque and, on the x axis, a component as close as possible to the theoretical torque component, and there are applied to the panels the depointing angles associated with said possible torque by the correlation law.

Pour régler l'attitude en roulis (X) et en lacet (Z) d'un satellite (1) à deux panneaux solaires (4, 5) adaptés pour être orientés indépendamment l'un de l'autre par rapport à un axe de tangage, on choisit tout d'abord deux axes géométriques x et z dans les plans de roulis et de lacet, l'erreur admissible de couple de commande associée à l'axe z étant de beaucoup inférieure à celle admise pour l'axe x, puis on établit une loi de corrélation entre les angles de dépointage des panneaux du satellite .gamma.N et .gamma.S et les couples de commande possibles en raison de la pression de rayonnement solaire et, par la suite de façon cyclique au cours d'une orbite, on calcule un couple théorique de correction d'attitude dans les plans de roulis et de lacet et on détermine un couple possible ayant, sur l'axe z, une composante sensiblement égale à celle du couple théorique et, sur l'axe x, une composante la plus rapprochée possible de la composante du couple théorique. On applique alors aux panneaux les angles de dépointage associés auxdits couples possibles en vertu de la loi de corrélation susmentionnée.
