ABSTRACT This invention relates to a saturated polyester, such as polyethylene terephthalate, bottle-shaped container incorporating high transparency and superior mechanical surface strength and a method of fabricating the same. The hard coating is formed by the steps of coating ultraviolet ray hardenable methyl methacrylate resin paint on the surface of the body and irradiating the coated body with ultraviolet rays. The bottle-shaped container has improved wear resistance and an extremely flat surface which eliminates adherence of dirt thereon.
