- 1 - Abstract: A crosscut saw has a series of sawteeth spread apart by a predetermined chip clearance. A selected number of such teeth interspersed along the length of the saw are subsequently modified to have their chip clearance reduced, either to zero or at least to a value less than that of the unmodified teeth. The result is a saw that, when cutting a wooden workpiece, avoids formation of a projection between the teeth, with consequent improved performance.
