ABSTRACT A power saw chain is of the type comprising pivotally interconnected, alternate left and right-hand cutting links, driving links and laterally dis- posed connecting links, with some links having a safety projection extending beyond the connecting link outer edges. The chain of the invention, when pass- ing around the end of a guide rail, provides that the rearmost section of the outer edge of each safety projection has a trajectory whose radius is greater than that of the tips of the cutting teeth. This ensures that the trailing edge of the cutting teeth engages the grooved workpiece firstly so as to pre- vent kick-back or snatching during cutting.
