A scanning and detection means is provided with a radiation source emitting radiation applied to a subject to be scanned, and further to a detection screen. Said screen comprises fluorescent organic and/or inorganic elements emitting a second radiation at a lower frequency received from a source and converted into an electric signal. A plurality of fluorescent elements is provided comprising elements capable of different fluorescing in response to the incident radiation wavelength.
