Scheduling an event on an electronic communications device configured for sending and receiving electronic messages over a communications network, comprising extracting information from an electronic message at the communications device; displaying on a display of the communications device an event scheduling interface for scheduling an event, the event scheduling interface having a plurality of input fields for receiving information about the event; and automatically populating at least one of the input fields in dependence on the extracted information.

Selon la présente invention, la programmation d'un événement sur un dispositif de communications électronique configuré pour envoyer et recevoir des messages électroniques par un réseau de communication consiste à extraire des informations d'un message électronique au niveau du dispositif de communications, à afficher sur un écran dudit dispositif une interface de programmation d'événements pour la programmation d'un événement, ladite interface possédant plusieurs champs d'entrée de réception d'informations concernant l'événement, et à peupler automatiquement au moins un des domaines d'entrée en fonction des informations extraites.
