Scouring fleece including a flat structure of interconnected coarse fibres which form a three-dimensional network, whereby a continuous or discontinuous layer of resin or the like is adhered to the fibres, which layer includes an amount of abrasive granules and in addition thereto an amount of reflective bodies. The reflective bodies are thereby attached to the surface of the layer by being incorporated into the network through a spread-on application process. By incorporating reflective bodies into the scouring fleece, it becomes visible to the user of the scouring fleece whether and to which degree the scouring fleece is still effective. The reflective bodies are used up to the same degree as the abrasive granules during the use of the scouring fleece. When the scouring fleece has no more visible reflectors, its effectiveness based on the abrasive granules is used up.
