CA 2359512

Plant for the processing of spent rubber and spent rubber products by cryogenic size reduction, comprising freeze tunnels for freezing the material stock to be reduced, foreign material separating means and reducing means for the deep-frozen material. To this end, a multi-stage pre-reducing system comprising reducers (17, 17a) is provided. The pre-reduced material stock is directed through a freeze system divided into a plurality of freeze zones in which a low-temperature liquid refirgerant may be sprayed onto the material stock. The freeze system has a temperature equalizing system connected to the output thereof, and the deep-frozen material stock is comminuted to a fine grain size in a step-wise fashion in subsequent multi-stage fine reducers.
