A continuous flow filter changer (10) for a fluid having a filter carrier assembly (36) for intermittent sliding transition displacements in a filter channel to align adjacent filters (38) thereon successively with a filter aperture in the flow passage (28). The duration of each such transition is substantially less than that between transitions. A ring shaped seal (46) sealingly connects between the flow passage (28) upstream thereof and a filter (38) aligned with said aperture to prevent fluid flow except through said filter (38). The clearance for sliding between the filter carrier assembly (36) and the filter channel is controlled to allow for such displacements while limiting the fluid leakage from the filter channel during a single transition to a predetermined level.
Dispositif (10) servant à remplacer un filtre d'écoulement continu et possédant un ensemble support de filtres (36) conçu pour effectuer des déplacements intermittents de transition en coulissant dans un canal de filtres, de manière à aligner des filtres contigus (38) successivement sur une ouverture de filtre dans le passage d'écoulement (28). La durée de chacune de ces transitions est sensiblement inférieure à la durée entre les transitions. Un joint annulaire (46) relie de façon étanche l'amont du passage d'écoulement (28) et un filtre (38) aligné sur ladite ouverture afin d'empêcher l'écoulement du liquide sauf à travers ledit filtre (38). Le jeu de coulissement entre l'ensemble support de filtres (36) et le canal de filtres est commandé, de façon à permettre les déplacements, tout en limitant à un niveau prédéterminé les fuites du liquide depuis le canal de filtres pendant une seule transition.
