Apparatus for screening papermaking stock comprises two annular flat screening plates arranged in parallel spaced relation to form a screening chamber therebetween which is bounded on its outer periphery by a cylindrical wall, and wherein a rotor includes vane portions which extend into this screening chamber to agitate the stock so that particles of sufficiently small size can pass through the screening plates into annular compartments outside the screening plates from which they flow into a peripheral chamber having an outlet port. The screening chamber includes an annular space which is surrounded by the accepts chamber and is radially beyond the vane portions of the rotor wherein reject material collects for discharge through an outlet tube which extends through the accepts chamber to the outside of the apparatus. The apparatus as a whole comprises a main assembly which includes one of the screening plates and the rotor, and a subassembly which includes the other screening plate and can be removed from the main portion to expose the screening plates for replacement or other servicing.
Cette invention concerne un épurateur de pâte à papier composé de deux plaques annulaires de filtrage plates, parallèles et espacées pour constituer une enceinte d'épuration délimitée par une paroi cylindrique extérieure à l'intérieur de laquelle tourne un rotor à pales pour agiter la pâte à papier de façon que les particules de dimensions suffisamment faibles puissent traverser lesdites plaques de filtrage et tomber dans des compartiments annulaires disposés en périphérie des dites plaques et s'écouler dans une enceinte périphérique munie d'un orifice de décharge. L'enceinte d'épuration comporte un espace annulaire qui est entouré d'une enceinte de réception des passants et qui se trouve à l'extérieur de la portée des pales du rotor, ledit espace annulaire recevant les refus à déverser par un tube de décharge qui traverse l'enceinte de réception des passants pour aboutir à l'extérieur de l'épurateur. L'épurateur dans son ensemble comprend une partie principale formée d'une des plaques de filtrage et du rotor et un sous-ensemble amovible comprenant l'autre plaque de filtrage, la dépose de ce sous-ensemble amovible ayant pour but de donner accès aux plaques de filtrage aux fins de remplacement ou d'entretien.
