The screening device comprises a casing with an inject inlet and with accept and reject outlets. Within the casing a cylindric screening member is stationarily positioned and within the screening member a concentric rotor is located so that a screen chamber surrounding the rotor is formed. Said rotor is provided with wing elements which extend in the circumferential and axial directions of the rotor and which are spaced from the surface of the rotor. The wing elements have a length in the circumferential direction, which in relation to the radial dimension of the screen chamber has a ratio of at least 2:1 and at maximum 6:1. The leading edges of the wing elements are located at a greater radial distance from the rotor than the trailing edges of the elements, and said distance decreases continuously.
