A method of determining the optimal yield of a target compound comprises: (a) determining the initial composition of a mixture of compounds containing the target compound; (b) dissolving the mixture in a solvent; (c) placing a quantity of the solution in a plurality of vessels; (d) optionally, placing a portion of a different derivatising agent in each vessel; (e) causing crystallisation to occur; (f) analysing the contents of the vessels after the crystallisation has approached equilibrium to determine the compositions of the liquors and the compositions of the solids; and (g) comparing the compositions determined in step (f) to profile the performance of each system (by calculated means) in terms of the projected maximum yield of target compound is an optimised crystallisation process.

Un procédé pour déterminer un rendement optimal d'un composé cible consiste en ce qui suit: (a) déterminer la composition initiale d'un mélange de composés contenant le composé cible; (b) dissoudre le mélange dans un solvant; (c) placer une quantité donnée de la solution dans plusieurs récipients; (d) en option, placer une partie d'un agent de dérivation différent dans chaque récipient; (e) assurer le déroulement de la cristallisation; (f) analyser le contenu des récipients une fois que la cristallisation s'est approchée de l'équilibre afin de déterminer la composition des liquides et des solides; et (g) comparer les compositions déterminées au stade (f) pour établir le profil de la performance de chaque système (par des moyens de calcul) en termes de rendement maximal estimé du composé cible dans un processus de cristallisation optimisé.
