ABSTRACT A screw cap with tamperproof element; in particular for wide-necked containers, comprises a closure cap which can be screwed onto the neck of the container. The tamperproof element consists of a visible or palpable tamperproof feature on the screw cap, which is irreversibly formed by deformation of a part of the closure cap when the closure is turned in order to open the container or by locking of parts of the closure cap.
