The invention relates to a conical screw press for compressing and/or for removing liquid from bulk material, comprising a screw with screw thread and core in a housing, means for rotating the screw in the housing, an inlet opening for the bulk material from which liquid is to be removed, an outlet opening for the bulk material from which liquid has been removed, and at least one outlet opening for the liquid which has been extracted. The characteristic features of the invention are that: a) the screw (1) is dimensioned, within at least the greater portion of the length of the screw between the inlet opening for bulk material and the outlet opening for bulk material, such that the external diameter (D) of the screw thread and the diameter (d) of the screw core change axially in the screw press from a first arbitrary axial position, where the external diameter of the screw thread=D1 and the diameter of the screw core=d1, to an arbitrary second axial position, situated downstream in the direction of the bulk material where the external diameter of the screw thread=D2 and the diameter of the screw core=d2, in accordance with the formulae (I) and (II) where K is a compression ratio, i.e. the volume of the bulk material at the first position in relation to the volume of the bulk material at the second position, and n is a number between 2.5 and 3.5; and b) the angle a of the screw threads in relation to a plane at right angles to the screw shank varies by at most 20 % in either direction from a constant angle in relation to the said plane within the said portion of the length of the screw.
L'invention porte sur une presse conique à vis destinée à comprimer un liquide dans un matériau en vrac et/ou à extraire un liquide d'un matériau en vrac, comportant une vis avec un filetage et un noyau cylindrique dans un carter, des organes permettant de faire tourner la vis dans le carter, un orifice d'admission pour le matériau en vrac d'où doit être extrait un liquide et un orifice d'écoulement pour le matériau en vrac d'où le liquide a été extrait ainsi qu'un orifice, au moins, pour le liquide extrait. Cette invention présente les caractéristiques suivantes: a) les dimensions de la vis (1), au moins dans une grande partie de sa longueur entre l'orifice d'admission et l'orifice d'écoulement du matériau en vrac, sont telles que le diamètre extérieur (D) du filetage de la vis et le diamètre (d) du noyau cylindrique de la vis varient de manière axiale dans le compresseur à vis d'une première position axiale arbitraire, dans laquelle le diamètre extérieur du filetage de la vis est égal à D1 et le diamètre du noyau cylindrique à d1, à une seconde position axiale arbitraire, située vers le bas en direction du matériau en vrac, dans laquelle le diamètre extérieur du filetage de la vis est égal à D2 et le diamètre du noyau cylindrique à d2, selon les formules (I) et (II) dans lesquelles K représente un rapport de compression, c'est-à-dire le volume du matériau en vrac au premier emplacement par rapport au volume du matériau au second emplacement, et n représente un nombre compris entre 2,5 et 3,5; et b) l'angle ( alpha ) formé par le filetage de la vis et un plan orthogonal à la tige de la vis varie de 20 % au plus dans l'une ou l'autre direction à partir d'un angle constant formé avec ledit plan dans ladite partie de la longueur de la vis.
