A screw-in post support for use in supporting a post vertically above the ground. The post support has a four-sided post-receiving box mounted atop a shaft having a helical blade affixed thereto. Opposed rectangular slots are provided in two of the walls adjacent the floor of the box. The slots are dimensioned to allow the insertion of a rectangular piece of lumber in order to provide the necessary torque to screw the post support into and out of the ground. A pair of adjacent walls may be equipped with flanges that may be drawn toward one another to clamp the box around a post.
L'invention concerne un support de montant vissé utilisé en vue de supporter un montant de manière verticale au-dessus du sol. Le support de montant comporte une boîte de réception de montant à quatre cotés montée au-dessus d'un arbre sur lequel est fixée une pale hélicoïdale. Des encoches rectangulaires opposées sont ménagées dans deux des parois adjacentes au fond de la boîte. Ces encoches sont dimensionnées de manière à permettre l'insertion d'une pièce rectangulaire de bois débité en vue de produire le couple nécessaire afin de visser le support de montant dans ou hors du sol. Une paire de parois adjacentes peut être équipée de rabats pouvant être étirés l'un vers l'autre en vue de serrer la boîte autour du montant.
