In a screw press, an outer tube (5) with a screen (4) tensioned thereover is divided into a condensing zone outer tube (5a) and a dewatering zone outer tube (5b), having a freely rotatable screw shaft (7) therein with a sludge supply path (28) formed therein with a supply hole (28a) opening at a starting end of the condensing zone. A screw vane (6) is wound on the screw shaft. A scraper (33) extends along an outer periphery of the screw vane from the start to the end of the dewatering zone, making pressurized sliding contact with outer tube inner peripheral portions and cooperating with the screw shaft and the screw vane for condensing and dewatering to be effected.
La presse à vis de l'invention comporte un tube extérieur (5) sur lequel est tendu un tamis (4). Ce tube se divise en une zone de condensation à liberté de rotation occupant la moitié avant, et une zone de filtrage et d'essorage occupant la moitié arrière. Une vis sans fin capable de rotation libre (7) équipe l'intérieur du tube extérieur ainsi divisé (5a, 5b). Le tamis (4) du tube extérieur (5) sépare le fluide filtré de la boue alimentée à l'extrémité d'entrée de la zone de condensation. Le tourteau de filtrage est évacué par l'orifice de décharge (29) à l'extrémité arrière du tube extérieur (5b) de la zone de filtrage et d'essorage. La vis sans fin (7) comporte un chemin d'alimentation en boue (28). L'extrémité d'introduction du tube extérieur (5a) de la zone de condensation comporte un trou d'alimentation (28a) desservant le chemin d'alimentation (28). Une raclette (33) équipe la périphérie extérieure d'une pale de vis (6) depuis l'extrémité d'introduction jusqu'à l'extrémité de sortie. Cette raclette (33) est amenée à exercer un contact coulissant en pression avec la surface périphérique intérieure du tube extérieur (5a), ce qui fait que le filtrage et l'essorage s'effectuent au fur et à mesure de la rotation du tube extérieur (5a) de la zone de condensation et de la vis sans fin (7).
