ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An improved scroll type compressor unit is disclosed for the compression expansion and or pumping of fluids. The main advantages of the improved compressor are: fewer number of parts, continuous compression of fluid, improved sealing of the fluid pocket and reduced wearing of the spiral elements. With this structure, fluid introduced into the compressor housing is taken into all pockets between both scroll members in order to effectively compress the fluid. These advantages are achieved by controlling the entry of fluid into the compressor in a manner to divide it where one portion of the fluid is taken into a space between the outer end portion of the rotatable scroll member and the fixed scroll member with the other portion of the fluid being introduced into a space between the outer terminal end portion of the fixed scroll member and the adjacent portion of the rotatable scroll member. This arrangement ensures that fluid introduced into the compressor housing is affectively taken into all fluid pockets between both scroll members. This is achieved by having a first end plate on the fixed scroll member and a second end plate on the orbiting scroll member, with the first end plate at an upper portion thereof being provided with a first hole outside the wrap of the fixed scroll member and adjacent to the outer terminal end of the second wrap of the orbiting scroll member. A second hole is provided at a position corresponding to the centre of the first wrap. The first hole is connected through the suction chamber of the compressor to the fluid inlet port to thereby introduce the fluid from the inlet port into the first chamber, defined between the scroll members, while introducing the remaining portion of the fluid to the other side of the scroll members.
