CA 2152288

A seal for arrangement in a flue gas armature, especially in a shut-off device in the form of a jalousie flap, with at least one movable flap which, with its flap seal seat, can be brought to rest in a sealing manner on a corre- sponding stationary counter seal seat located on an armature housing. The flap seal seat or the counter seal seat is covered by an elastically deformable spring-steel strip which curves to the outside in convex fashion over the seal seat in question and has a first and a second longitudinal side. The first longitudinal side of the spring-steel strip is clamped to the part forming the seal seat in question. The second longitudinal side of the spring-steel strip is attached in a slidable fashion to that part to which the first longitudinal side of the spring-steel strip is clamped.
