A seal cartridge (10) adapted to be mounted upon a rotating shaft (30), including a rotor (12) and a stator (40), the rotor and stator being arranged to create a labyrinth portion (A) and a contact portion (B). The rotor includes a radially outwardly directed surface (18) and the stator includes a flange (56) biased toward the rotor surface to create the contact portion. The rotor and stator create a labyrinth portion with a pair of inwardly facing ridges (51, 53) positioned within a pair of outwardly facing grooves (15, 17). The stator may include a shoulder (44) for positioning the seal cartridge with respect to the housing, or instead a sloped surface. A spring may be used to bias the flange firmly toward the contact surface of the rotor. The rotor may also have a flange (14) which deforms and fits within an annular notch (50) of the stator.
La présente invention concerne une garniture étanche (10) destinée à être montée sur un arbre tournant (30), comprenant un rotor (12) et un stator (40), le rotor et le stator étant disposés de manière à former une partie de labyrinthe (A) et une partie de contact (B). Le rotor comprend une surface orientée vers l'extérieur de manière radiale (18) et le stator comprend une bride (56) en sollicitation sur la surface du rotor afin de créer une partie de contact. Le rotor et le stator créent une partie de labyrinthe au moyen d'une paire de reliefs orientés vers l'intérieur (51, 53) positionnés à l'intérieur d'une paire de creux orientés vers l'extérieur (15, 17). Le stator peut comprendre un épaulement (44), ou bien une surface oblique, destiné à positionner la garniture étanche par rapport au logement. Il est possible d'utiliser un ressort afin d'obtenir un contact ferme entre la bride et la surface du rotor. Le rotor peut aussi être équipé d'une bride (14) qui se déforme et s'insère dans une encoche (50) du stator.
