The device comprises a cylin- der (3) and a piston (7) which is con- tactlessly guided in relation to the cylinder (3). Between the jacket sur- faces (15, 14) of the cylinder (3) and the piston (7) there is a gap seal (12) with a very thin uniform an- nular cross-sectioni. The surface ar- eas (14, 15) of the cylinder liner (4) and the piston (7) are substantially smooth and consist of a material with a lower coefficient of linear expan- sion than steel. The sealing gap and central guidance of the piston (7) in the cylinder liner (4) is ensured by two guides (8, 9) rigidly secured to the housing (5). Said guides (8, 9) are elastic along the central axis (2) of the piston-cylinder unit and very rigid in transversely to the central axis (2). The arrangement of a gap seal between the piston (7) and the cylinder (3) formed with the aid of these guides (8, 9) is contactless with the minimum gap and there is no frictional wear on the sealing materials, the movements of the piston (7) being guided completely centrally in relation to the cylinder (3).

La présente invention concerne un dispositif qui comprend un cylindre (3) et un piston (7) qui, par rapport au cylindre (3), est guidé sans contact. Entre les surfaces d'enveloppe (15, 14) du cylindre (3) et du piston (7), il se forme un joint à interstice (12) qui présente une section circulaire très mince et très régulière. Les surfaces d'enveloppe (14, 15) de la chemise (4) de cylindre et du piston (7) sont sensiblement lisses et elles sont faites d'une matière dont le coefficient de dilatation linéaire est inférieur à celui de l'acier. Le maintien précis de l'interstice d'étanchéité et le guidage centré du piston (7) dans la chemise de cylindre (4) sont assurés par deux guides (8, 9) reliés rigidement au carter (5). Ces guides (8, 9) sont élastiques dans la direction de l'axe médian (2) de l'unité piston-cylindre et très rigides perpendiculairement à l'axe médian. Le joint à interstice entre le piston (7) et le cylindre (3) réalisé à l'aide de ces guides (8, 9) est sans contact, avec un interstice minimal, et il n'y a pas d'abrasion de matières d'étanchéification; les mouvements du piston (7) sont guidés de façon à être exactement centrés par rapport au cylindre (3).
