The sections of concrete pipe or sections of concrete rings are joined end-to-end by a joint, and, to prevent aggregate and other foreign matter from entering the joint when a gap forms in it as a result of temperature changes or other disturbances, a band of flexible material is installed at the joint, the band being fitted with a collar fabricated to remain pressed against the joint and cover it permanently even if a gap forms in the joint. The band is preferably fastened to one of the sections of pipe, and may even be made in two pieces, one inserting into the other.
Les sections de tuyaux ou d'anneaux de béton sont réunies bout à bout par un joint, et, pour empêcher que des agrégats et autres matériaux indésirables ne pénètrent dans le joint lorsqu'un espace se produit dans ce dernier à la suite de modifications climatiques ou autres dérangements, on dispose au niveau du joint, un anneau en matériau flexible, lequel comporte une collerette fabriquée pour demeurer pressée contre le joint et recouvrir ce dernier en permanence même si un espace vient à se créer dans le joint. Cet anneau est de préférence fixé à l'une des sections de tuyau et on peut même prévoir constituer cet anneau en deux pièces s'emboîtant l'une dans l'autre.
