A one piece flexible sanitary seal (16) of uniform cross-section is provided for over pressure vent structure that protects a confined space meeting hygienic standards. The seal (16) has an elongated body (38) provided with a central section (40), a C-shaped terminal end (42) having a main lug portion (46) and a secondary lug segment (48) that project away from each other with a cavity (50) therebetween, and a long tail portion (44) cooperating with the central section (40) to present a longitudinally extending angular groove (62). The seal (16) is adapted to be mounted between a vent membrane unit (14) and a frame component (18) of the vent structure. Lug portion (46) and lug segment (48) sealingly engage the inner surface of the vent membrane (14) inboard of a line of weakness therein defined by a series of slots. A rectangular projection (52) extends from the central section (40) in disposition to engage the vent membrane unit (14), outboard of the line of weakness. The main lug portion (46) and the secondary lug segment (48) of terminal end (42) are moveable toward and away from one another while remaining in tight sealing engagement with the vent membrane unit (14) during in and out cycling thereof. Frame component (18) is received in the groove (62) to firmly affix the seal (16) to the vent structure.
L'invention concerne un joint sanitaire souple monobloc (16) de section transversale uniforme destiné à une structure de ventilation pour surpressions assurant la protection d'un espace confiné et satisfaisant aux normes en matière d'hygiène. Ce joint (16) comprend un corps allongé (38) possédant une partie centrale (40), une extrémité terminale en forme de C (42) comportant un épaulement principal (46) et un épaulement secondaire (48) faisant saillie dans des sens opposés et étant séparés par une cavité (50), ainsi qu'un appendice allongé (44) coopérant avec la partie centrale (40) de façon à définir une rainure angulaire longitudinale (62). Le joint (16) est conçu pour être monté entre une unité membrane de ventilation (14) et un élément de cadre (18) de la structure de ventilation. L'épaulement principal (46) et l'épaulement secondaire (48) entrent en contact étanche avec surface intérieure de la membrane de ventilation (14) à l'intérieur d'une ligne de moindre résistance définie par une série de fentes. Une saillie rectangulaire (52) s'étend à partir de la partie centrale (40) dans une disposition lui permettant d'entrer en contact avec l'unité membrane de ventilation (14), à l'extérieur de la ligne de moindre résistance. L'épaulement principal (46) et l'épaulement secondaire (48) de l'extrémité terminale (42) peuvent se déplacer l'un vers l'autre ou dans le sens opposé tout en restant en contact étanche étroit avec l'unité membrane de ventilation (14) pendant ses cycles de déformation vers l'intérieur et vers l'extérieur. L'élément de cadre (18) est reçu dans la rainure (62), ce qui permet de fixer fermement le joint (16) à la structure de ventilation.
