Seal for tubular heat exchanger comprising groove (11) with an inner edge (404); tongue (401) of the diaphragm (13) having front face (402) extending in the radial direction and inner edge (403) parallel to the axis of the channel; the face (402) extending beyond the radial width of the groove (11) in inward direction and overlapping the face of the shoulder of the channel in which the groove (11) being provided. The tongue (401) of the diaphragm (13) being thus kept away from entering the groove (11); the diaphragm having flexibility to permit deflection of the tongue, the tongue of the diaphragm being loaded from outer side by the internal compression ring (9), the said internal compression ring (9) being loaded in turn by the threaded push bolts/rods (10) being fitted in the threaded holes on periphery of the threaded lock ring (2). This load is ultimately transferred to the joint between the gasket (7) and face (402) to achieve leak-proof joint.

L'invention concerne un joint pour échangeur de chaleur tubulaire comprenant une rainure (11) présentant un bord intérieur (404); une languette (401) du diaphragme (13) présentant une face avant (402) s'étendant radialement et un bord intérieur (403) parallèle à l'axe du canal; la face (402) s'étendant au-delà de la largeur radiale de la rainure (11) vers l'intérieur et chevauchant la face de l'épaulement du canal dans lequel la rainure (11) est formée. L'entrée de la languette (401) du diaphragme (13) dans la rainure (11) étant ainsi empêchée; le diaphragme présentant une certaine souplesse afin de permettre la déflexion de la languette, la languette du diaphragme étant soumise à une charge depuis une face extérieure par la bague de compression interne (9), ladite bague de compression interne (9) étant à son tour soumise à une charge par les boulons/tiges de poussée filetés (10) ajustés dans les trous filetés à la périphérie de la bague de verrouillage filetée (2). Ladite charge est enfin transférée vers le joint entre la garniture (7) et la face (402) afin d'obtenir un joint étanche.
