An early warning system for equipment or processes which can be permanently or temporarily damaged by contaminants coming from air moving equipment, such as a compressor, positioned upstream of air flowing through the equipment. The present invention provides a seal-leak detection arrangement that, when incorporated into air moving equipment, monitors the air passing through the air moving equipment for the presence of contaminants such as lubricant oil, which could damage the equipment downstream. At least one sensor is positioned downstream of a contaminant retaining seal within the air moving equipment. The seal-leak detection arrangement is particular useful when incorporated into systems upstream of a fuel cell.
L'invention concerne un système d'alerte rapide destiné à des éléments ou des processus pouvant être endommagés de façon permanente ou temporaire par des agents contaminants provenant d'éléments déplaçant de l'air, tels qu'un compresseur, disposés en amont du flux d'air parcourant l'élément. L'invention concerne un système de détection de fuites sur des joints, qui permet, lorsqu'il est logé dans un élément déplaçant de l'air, de contrôler la présence d'agents contaminants dans l'air parcourant ledit élément, tels que par exemple de l'huile de lubrification pouvant endommager l'élément en aval. Au moins un capteur est disposé en aval d'un joint retenant des agents contaminants, dans l'élément déplaçant de l'air. Ledit système de détection de fuites sur des joints est particulièrement utile lorsqu'il est logé dans des systèmes situés en amont d'une cellule électrochimique.
