Abstract Seal Means For a twin spool gas turbine engine that utilizes a carbon seal. A bellows is supported to bias the carbon seal against its seal plate and a back-up seal consisting of a piston ring is located in the balance diameter of the carbon seal to maintain its loading in the event the bellows fail.
