Abstract of the disclosure: For refining existing methods of measurement for the testing of the sealing of containers, the container tem- perature is measured during the detection of a pressure value which is employed for indicating leakage. A limit pressure value, predetermined at a corresponding tempera- ture, for determining whether a container satisfies seal requirements is corrected in accordance with the actual measurement temperature, and then the actual pressure value and the limit pressure value at the same tempera- ture are compared. In this way, pressure variations related from temperature changes are taken into account.
