Abstract A sealed cartridge for the preparation of a beverage and a process and apparatus for its production The invention relates to a sealed cartridge (1) which is designed to be extracted under pressure and which con- tains a substance for the preparation of a beverage (5), comprising a cup (2) with a lateral wall substantially frustoconical in shape, an upper face larger in diameter than the lower face (7) and, on the lower face (7), a filter (4), the lower face being separate from the filter, flat and of even thickness and the upper face comprising a flange (6) with an annular rim to which a lid (3) is welded.
