A sealing arrangement is provided for preventing fluid leakage along the drive shaft (23) of a centrifugal pump (40) driven by an electric motor (21). The sealing arrangement is in the form of three separate sealing assemblies: a w-shaped seal formed by a casing backplate (42) and repeller (70, 71); a triplex sealing assembly (31) which seals a rotating shaft flange seal surface (68) by use of non-rotatable but axially movable sealing tubes (96, 97, 98) which are biased by three flexible diaphragms (11, 170, 171); and a piston seal arrangement (32) where an adjustable force piston (180) biased an axially movable but non-rotatable sealing tube (198) against a sealing surface of a rotating flange (201). An oil mister (34) is also provided which lubricates bearing assemblies (35, 36) of the shaft. A cooling fan (33) is magnetically coupled to the electric motor by magnet (328, 420) for cooling the motor.
