A sealing assembly (10) for sealing flexible packaging materials comprising: a sealing mechanism for sealing the packaging material; and a spreading mechanism for spreading the packaging material to be sealed prior to sealing, the spreading mechanism including at least two pair of opposed spreading members (15a, 15b), each pair having opposing converging contact edges (17a, 17b) which engage either side of the packaging material during spreading; wherein the spreading members are mounted for relative movement between a first open orientation and a second closed orientation such that, as the spreading members travel from said first to said second orientation, the contact edges initially contact the packaging material at convergent ends of the contact edges and then proceed to contact the packaging material along the length of the contact edges to divergent ends thereof, and wherein subsequently or simultaneously the spreading members engage the packaging material between the contact edges and travel transversely relative to the packaging material to spread the packaging material.
Cette invention se rapporte à un ensemble scellant (10) servant à sceller des matériaux d'emballage souples et comprenant: un mécanisme scellant servant à sceller le matériau d'emballage; et un mécanisme d'étalement servant à étaler le matériau d'emballage à sceller, avant le scellement, ce mécanisme d'étalement comportant au moins deux paires d'éléments d'étalement opposés (15a, 15b), présentant chacune des bords de contact convergents opposés (17a, 17b) qui viennent en prise avec l'un et/ou l'autre des côtés du matériau d'emballage pendant l'étalement. Ces éléments d'étalement sont montés de façon à effectuer un mouvement relatif entre une première orientation ouverte et une seconde orientation fermée pour que, lorsque les éléments d'étalement passent de la première à la seconde orientation, les bords de contact viennent d'abord en contact avec le matériau d'emballage au niveau des extrémités convergentes des bords de contact et progressent ensuite jusqu'à venir en contact avec le matériau d'emballage, le long des bords de contact, jusqu'à des extrémités divergentes de ceux-ci et, ensuite ou en même temps, les éléments d'étalement viennent en prise avec le matériau d'emballage entre les bords de contact et avancent transversalement par rapport au matériau d'emballage, pour étaler ledit matériau d'emballage.
