ABSTRACT A quick-acting hose coupling comprising a pair of coupling members having interengageable lugs, each coupling member having a compound sealing ring which comprises (a) a resilient sealing portion having a first part engaged lockingly in an annular recess in the coupling member and a second part projecting axially outwardly from the recess, and (b) a rigid reinforcement portion encircling the outwardly projection part such that it restricts distortion of the resilient portion which leads to fluid leakage.
