ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The sealing-compound, notably for roofs and the like, is intended for surface applications and comprises a reinforcement covered with a bitumen and polymer binder. This binder consists of two parts, namely a surface binder having a polymer contents sufficient to withstand the action of weather conditions and the main body binder having a polymer contents sufficient to impart the desired elastic properties thereto ; the polymer contents of the surface layer and of the internal body layer are selected from the ranges of 10 to 20 percent by weight and 0.5 to 10 percent by weight, respectively, in proportion to the weight of bitumen, the reinforcement being advantageously disposed between the surface layer and the main body layer of the binder.
