ABSTRACT The invention relates to a sealing device for pressure fluid cylinders comprising in the cylinder a longitudinal slot, which is sealed by a flexible strip. According to the invention, the inside of the cylinder on each side of the slot, and at least the portion covered by the strip, is formed with a curvature smaller than the cylinder radius. The strip on the inside is chamfered toward the edges so that the height of the respective strip edge is smaller than or equal to 0.1 mm.
