ABSTRACT Sealing device for the window of a vehicle door, and door having this device. Sealing device for the window (2) of a vehicle door (1), characterized in that it comprises at least one seal (6) with two flexible lips (7, 8) applied against each other, and a metal section (15) integral with the inner face of the window, having a limb (15b) substanti- ally perpendicular to the window, this metal section (15) being positioned such that its limbs (15b) penetrates into the seal (6) between the lips (7, 8) applied tightly against the said limb, both when the window (2) is in the raised closed position, flush with the outer surface of the bodywork of the vehicle, and when this window is in the lower open position after having made a lateral displacement (d) towards the inside of the vehicle. This sealing system is completed by a guide device which enables the window (2) to be flush with the surface of the bodywork on all four sides in the closed position.
