Abstract of the Disclosure A device for sealing the periphery of a coke oven door with a receiving frame of a coke oven furnace, wherein there is provided a coke oven door to seal the opening of a coke oven furnace, comprising a knife edge provided at the periphery of a sealing plate adopted as sealing means for said door, and said knife edge is so constructed as to be always pressed or biased against the receiving frame surrounding the coke oven furnace opening by means of spring, and when necessary, by hitting said knife edge or adjusting spring force sealing performance can be improved.
