In a sealing profile strip used to form a seal between one edge of a building component, such as a plaster board, and an adjacent building component, a mounting portion is adapted to cover a portion of an expansive surface of the first-mentioned building component when the sealing profile is installed along the edge of the first-mentioned building panel. A flange portion of the sealing profile is adapted to cover a portion of the edge of the first-mentioned building component when the sealing profile is installed therealong. For guiding a tool used to apply finishing material over the mounting portion, a rib portion of the sealing profile projects from the mounting portion and joins the mounting and flange portions. Two resilient sealing lips project from the flange portion, each for forming a seal between the edge of the first-mentioned building component and the adjacent building component when the sealing profile is installed therealong. For protecting the resilient sealing lip when finishing material is being applied, a tear-away strip projects from the rib portion. Being joined to the rib portion at a preferentially weakened juncture, the tear-away strip is torn away after finishing material has been applied.
Dans un profilé de scellement utilisé pour sceller un joint entre un bord d'un élément de construction, tel un panneau de plâtre, et un élément de construction adjacent, une partie de montage est adaptée pour couvrir une partie d'une surface expansive du premier élément de construction mentionné quand le profilé de scellement est posé sur le bord du premier panneau de construction mentionné. Une aile du profilé de scellement est adaptée pour couvrir une partie du bord du premier élément de construction mentionné quand on y pose le profilé de scellement. Dans le but de guider un outil utilisé pour appliquer un matériau de finition sur la partie de montage, une partie nervurée du profilé de scellement fait saillie sur la partie de montage qu'elle relie à l'aile du profilé. Deux lèvres de scellement élastiques font saillie sur l'aile du profilé, chacune servant à sceller le joint entre le bord du premier élément de construction mentionné et l'élément de construction adjacent quand on y pose le profilé de scellement. Dans le but de protéger la lèvre de scellement élastique quand on applique le matériau de finition, on a prévu une bande détachable qui fait saillie sur la partie nervurée. Rattachée à la partie nervurée sur une ligne jointive de préférence affaiblie, la bande détachable est arrachée une fois qu'on a appliqué le matériau de finition.
