A sealing ring is provided having a gasket made from a polymeric material, said gasket having a mounting portion and a sealing portion, said mounting portion being connected with a support ring and said sealing portion being bent towards a space to be sealed in an installed condition, said sealing portion for sealingly surrounding a circumferential side of a shaft to be sealed with a radial preload, and wherein said sealing portion includes a first surface profiling on a side facing the shaft, said first surface profiling includes at least one backflow conveying member and being disposed on a side facing the space to be sealed, and wherein at least one dust lip is disposed on a side of the reconveying member facing away from the space to be sealed; and a continuous annular sealing flange for sealingly surrounding the circumference of the shaft, said sealing flange being disposed between the conveying member and the dust lip.
