ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A sealing strip serves to form and seal a space between two sheets of glass, more particularly in an insulating window unit. Essentially, the sealing strip consists of a sealing material and a support profile containing a drying agent and preferably bent out of soft sheet metal, preferably aluminum sheet. The support profile has overlapping edges which, in use, face the space between the sheets of glass. The outer overlapping edge of the support profile has a first part running in use, at right angles to the sheets of glass and a second part running in use, approximately parallel with the sheets of glass, the free edge of the said second part being enclosed in, or covered with, the sealing material. At the latest when this sealing profile is incorporated into an insulating window unit, the area of the edge or edges facing the space between the sheets of glass is perforated.
