A method of assisting in the seaming of a papermaker's fabric (100) using a seam assist device (130) is disclosed. The seam assist (130) device is comprised of two portions. Each portion having an attaching edge (170) that is attached to a predetermined distance from the ends (110,120) of the fabric (100) by fitting spiral or loop elements (240) into voids in the surface of the fabric and anchoring the elements using a binder or pintle (250). Connecting edges (140) on each portion are then connected together, thereby causing the two attached ends (110,120) of the fabric to be brought together for seaming.

Procédé permettant de coudre une toile de fabrication de papier (100) au moyen d'un dispositif (130) contribuant à effectuer cette couture. Ce dispositif (130) est composé de deux parties. Chaque partie possède un bord de fixation (170) situé à distance prédéterminée des extrémités (110, 120) du textile (100), ce qui consiste à passer des éléments en spirale ou en boucle (240) dans des trous pratiqués dans la surface du textile et à ancrer ces éléments au moyen d'une reliure (250). Les bords contigus (140) de chaque partie sont ensuite accouplés, ce qui ramène les deux extrémités fixées (110, 120) du textile l'une vers l'autre afin de pouvoir les coudre.
