A method of searching for data to be retrieved from a distributed computer system, the method comprising: generating a search request at a user end terminal comprising at least one search criterion; modifying the search request at a user end terminal to indicate at least one user preference; forwarding the search request to a proxy terminal arranged to forward the search request to a data source capable of retrieving data from the distributed computer system, the data source being capable of providing a search result to a user end terminal selected in accordance with one or more predetermined user preferences.
L'invention concerne un procédé de recherche de données à extraire d'un système informatique réparti. Le procédé comporte les étapes consistant à : produire à un terminal final d'utilisateur une demande de recherche comprenant au moins un critère de recherche ; modifier la demande de recherche au terminal final d'utilisateur de manière à indiquer au moins une préférence d'utilisateur ; envoyer la demande de recherche à un terminal mandataire, lequel achemine ladite demande vers une source pouvant extraire des données du système informatique réparti et fournir un résultat de recherche au terminal final d'utilisateur, sélectionné en fonction d'une ou de plusieurs préférences d'utilisateur prédéterminées.
