ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE In seat belts, it is known to have a three-point type seat belt assembly adopting the well-rope type arrangement of the belt. In this inven- tion, at least one retractor is mounted on a side wall between two vertically arranged slip joints. One end part of one of either the shoulder belt or the lap belt is taken up on the retractor. The end part of the other belt is either secured to the retractor or also taken up on it. The belts are then pulled through their respective slip joints and fastened together. Most forces taken by the belt on opposite sides of the retractor cancel out and thus are not borne by the fastening means of the retractor.
