A secondary containment apparatus for a liquid storage tank includes a dike structure having a bottom and a continuous peripheral sidewall forming a liquid retaining enclosure. The liquid retaining enclosure is adapted to receive a liquid storage tank and contain the entire contents of the liquid storage tank in the event of a rupture. Structural supports are secured to the dike structure and extending substantially vertically above the peripheral sidewall. A roof is removably mounted on the structural supports in a vertically spaced relation to the peripheral sidewall.
