A secondary sewage treatment system is provided with a treatment vessel 7 disposed within a septic tank. The treatment vessel has a draft tube 9 for aerating and circulating waste liquor through the treatment vessel and through media contained within the treatment vessel. The media has one part 20 that is submerged media and another part 22 that is an unsubmerged trickle media. The operation of the draft tube circulates waste liquor within the treatment vessel through the submerged media and up through the draft tube where it is expelled and trickles down through the trickle media back into the liquor in the lower portion of the treatment vessel.

Cette invention concerne un système auxiliaire de traitement des eaux usées, lequel comprend une cuve de traitement (7) qui est disposée à l'intérieur d'une fosse sceptique. Cette cuve de traitement comprend un tube de circulation (9) qui permet d'aérer et de faire circuler le liquide résiduaire à travers ladite cuve et à travers le milieu qu'elle renferme. Une partie (20) de ce milieu est submergée, tandis que l'autre partie (22) consiste en un milieu suintant non submergé. Lors de son fonctionnement, le tube de circulation va faire circuler le liquide résiduaire dans la cuve de traitement et à travers le milieu submergé. Le liquide remonte à travers le tube de circulation par lequel il est ensuite éjecté avant de suinter vers le bas à travers le milieu de suintement, et de retourner dans le liquide résiduel se trouvant dans la partie inférieure de la cuve de traitement.
