A secretion-monitoring article for identifying a secreted biological fluid having a body with an absorbent material and least one pH determining member and a reagent associated with the absorbent material is disclosed. The article can be embodied as a swab, gauze, panty shield, hygienic napkin, diaper or interlabial absorbent structure and can be used to indicate the presence of amniotic fluid, or secretions associated with bacterial, fungal, or yeast infections without giving a false positive result upon exposure to urine. The present invention also teaches a pH indicator mixture and method of attaching the indicator to a substrate for use alone or integrated in an absorbent body and further teaches a method for monitoring the health condition of a person using the secretion-monitoring article.
La présente invention concerne un article de contrôle de sécrétion permettant d'identifier un fluide corporel sécrété. Cet article comprend un corps pourvu d'un matériau absorbant, d'au moins un élément indicateur de pH et d'un réactif qui est associé au matériau absorbant. Ledit article peut se présenter sous forme de tampon, de gaze, de protège-slip, de serviette hygiénique, de couche ou de structure absorbante interlabiale et peut être utilisé pour indiquer la présence de liquide amniotique ou de sécrétions associées à des infections bactériennes, fongiques ou aux levures, sans donner de faux résultat positif, par exposition à de l'urine. La présente invention concerne également un mélange indicateur de pH et un procédé pour fixer cet indicateur à un substrat destiné à un usage seul ou intégré dans un corps absorbant, ainsi qu'un procédé pour surveiller l'état de santé d'une personne en utilisant ledit article de contrôle de sécrétion.
