A method of processing secure transactions over unsecure computer networks (50) between account holders (30) and participating merchants (20) includes generating a number of separate periodically changing non-predictable codes, and assigning unique identifiers to a number of account holders (30) such that each identifier is associated with one of the separte periodically changing non-predictable codes. The account holders (30) are provided with tokens (230) that are each synchronized to generate the same periodically changing non- predictable code associated with the unique identifier assigned to the account holder (30) that was provided the token (230). The codes along with identifiers are then received over the unsecure computer network (50) from buyers involved in transactions. For each set of received codes and identifiers, the buyer is authenticated as the account holder (30) having the corresponding identifier when the received code matches the periodically changing non-predictable code for the identifier received.
L'invention concerne un procédé permettant d'effectuer des transactions sûres sur des réseaux informatiques (50) peu sûrs, entre des détenteurs de compte (30) et des commerçants participants (20). Ce procédé consiste à produire un certain nombre de codes séparés non prévisibles changeant périodiquement, et à affecter des identificateurs uniques à un certain nombre de détenteurs de compte (30), de sorte que chaque identificateur est associé à l'un de ces codes. On attribue des jetons (230) aux détenteurs de compte (30), chacun de ces jetons étant synchronisé de façon à générer le même code séparé non prévisible changeant périodiquement associé à l'identificateur unique attribué au détenteur de compte (30) qui détient ledit jeton (230). Les codes ainsi que les identificateurs d'acheteurs impliqués dans des transactions sont ensuite reçus sur le réseau informatique (50) peu sûr. Pour chaque ensemble de code et d'identificateur reçus, l'acheteur est identifié comme étant le détenteur de compte (30) ayant l'identificateur correspondant, lorsque le code reçu correspond au code séparé non prévisible changeant périodiquement de l'identificateur reçu.
